In Hypnotherapy most of our clients come to us with very personal issues and challenges and prefer to keep themselves anonymous, however often we find that when our clients and are freed from the constraints of a big issue, they really like to express their gratitude and share their stories. With permission, we’ve published some below:

” It was recommended that I have a session with Steve, to help clear any underlying emotions that were holding me back from progressing further in my business. I went along to the session with an open mind, although I was feeling a little anxious as it was a new experience for me.

During the session I felt relaxed as Steve explained how the session would run and he was very reassuring that I would remember all that we talked about.

At the end of the session I felt a sense of calmness as I headed off for home.

It was over the next few days that I began to notice the positive changes in both my thoughts and actions, in both personal and business situations

That negative inner dialogue and conflict was simply, not there.

I had always thought of myself as being a happy positive person, yet soon after my session, I was having a quiet coffee and chat with my daughter, when I became aware of a higher level of happiness inside me.

I have also noticed an increase in my energy levels and have been waking up earlier and getting through a lot more work and activities throughout the day.

Increased Traits

Strong, confident and ready to make decisions.

Motivated- On fire!

Improved communication with R. Once I realised HIS STYLE OF COMMUNICATION it has made it so much easier to communicate what I want.

Its OK to say no. More productive I have clarity and I can get through more stuff. Before it would go around in circles. Now since the emotional issues have disappeared I am free to go about and get more done in my busy day. This has been very empowering for me.

When I speak to clients now I am enthusiastic and passionate which is infectious and this has brought me so much more business. Before I was tired, overwhelmed and had a feeling of having hit the wall.

I can visualise now. Previously I was unable to see my future now I not only am able to see where I am going very clearly but I am also dreaming of the future!!

In hindsight I think I had been running on empty from giving and giving and somehow I was just going through the motions. Now I feel joyous, happy and energised it is like a light bulb has switched on.”

- Linda D.

” Hi Cindy,

I have always been interested in hypno-therapy but it was was with some trepidation that I took brought my daughter then aged 10 and later my son aged 12 into see Steve and Cindy. I worried about the impact of ‘messing’ with their young minds and deliberated long and hard about doing the right thing. Well I have absolutely no doubts now that I did the right thing.

Steve described the mind to me as a computer, with software that sometimes needs reprogramming. After sessions with Steve my Husband and I simply could not believe the difference in our daughter. She went from being angry and destructive all of the time to being the opposite. It was miraculous and two years on, she remains a happy confident child and an absolute joy to be with.

For my son the changes were more subtle, I brought him in to see Steve for very different reasons; he was lacking in confidence, finding it hard to communicate with people, particularly adults and I was worried about his low self esteem.

I have recommended HighTech Hypnotherapy to several people and will continue to do so happily.

Many thanks.”

Have you struggled to lose weight and overcome your weight loss barriers? Do you eat too much of the wrong foods even though you know it is harming your body? These challenges are not about food and weight, they are emotional barriers caused by an unconscious addiction to a repeated behaviour.

Hypnosis has been used extensively and successfully in weight loss treatments with a set of stages that ensure all emotional and unconscious barriers are removed. We have developed a course which provides a total of four sessions with us and your own personalized MP3 player to continue your journey in the comfort of your home.

The weight loss course runs over a 6 week period:

Week 1
Your First Session

The Emotional Drivers

We start off by getting to the bottom of why you need to lose weight by eliminating the emotional underpinning driver for your weight issue.

You will learn why you have been:

eating the wrong foods

eating too much too often or portions too large

eating at inappropriate times

using food as a emotional crutch

This session focuses on how you respond to daily stresses and creates tools for you to start losing weight.

Week 2
Relax At Home

Practice the relaxation techniques at home*

* You will receive a personalized MP 3 player containing personalised hypnosis to support and accelerate your journey to good health.

Week 3
Your Second Session

Reprogramming Your Auto Pilot

Next we focus on switching on that “auto” part of your mind that knows how to automatically select healthy foods which are appropriate for your body and ignore those which are harmful.

You will learn how to trust your unconscious mind to make the right decisions by teaching it how to do so in a conscious and deliberate manner.

Week 4
Your Third Session

An Active Lifestyle

The word exercise scares most people away because it conjures images of personal training sessions and hard work, so that becomes a barrier to an active lifestyle.

You will overcome any barriers, limitations or beliefs in this session that stop you from living a healthy, happy and active lifestyle. A fitter, leaner and stronger body is possible if you overcome your challenges on an unconscious level.

Week 5
Relax At Home

Practice the relaxation techniques at home*

* You will receive a personalized MP 3 player containing personalised hypnosis to support and accelerate your journey to good health.

Week 6
Your Fourth Session

Supercharge Your Motivation

Your final step is a session dedicated to generating a powerful motivating force to allow you to achieve your goals and beyond.

This class integrates the first three sessions and focuses on any final barriers which you may be experiencing.

Here’s what one of our clients has to say:

Faye Karp drops 3 dress sizes on the HighTech Hypnotherapy Weight Loss Program.

How has the program changed your relationship towards food and eating?
Well if you are a smoker or a drinker you can abstain from drinking and smoking, but with food you still have to eat! I started to see myself as a “garbage-a-holic” I would eat what I call garbage food in between healthy meals Now I have given up that way of eating.

Now I feel that I have more control around food. If I need to snack, I reach for healthy food like fruit or nuts. I was recently given a box of chocolates and I gave them to someone else (rather than eating them myself) as I just don’t feel like eating this type of treat anymore.

How has your approach towards exercise changed since your sessions?
I walk 6 days a week at 6am. It has just become something that is automatic for me now… and the best thing about this is that this was completely my decision as with all the changes I have made about eating and exercise since the program.

Your weight loss journey doesn’t need to be so challenging if you are able to stop fighting those unconscious urges to repeat damaging behaviour. You have the knowledge and strength to start a weight loss journey today – we can give you the rest of the tools to guarantee your success.

Have you tried patches and gum with some success, but just couldn’t resist the urge to light up a cigarette in certain situations?

Most people tell us it is hardest when out for a drink with friends, studying for exams, after a meal, while driving, while talking on the phone or while watching television. If this sounds like you, our quit smoking hypnotherapy can free you of the urge to smoke in the specific situation where it is a challenge for you.

Think of smoking hypnotherapy as a session of concentrated relaxation, stronger than meditation but based on the same principle of complete relaxation. Your subconscious holds the key to your addictions and habits, and the barriers to these can be broken down through an incredibly powerful process of attention focusing.

Habit versus Addiction

Talking on the phone, going out with friends … these are activities that you continue to do after quitting smoking, so the physical urge to smoke remains strong even if your body is getting substitute nicotine from a patch or gum.

One client told us of her strong desire to smoke every time she made a phone call, meaning she had to stay off the phone if she wanted to avoid the urge to smoke a cigarette because of the strong psychological connection between those activities. Her body didn’t crave nicotine at any other time, so this wasn’t an addiction to nicotine but a psychological habit formed over years of repeated behaviour.

Smoking hypnotherapy focuses on this habit, which is different to the physical addiction to nicotine which most people find easier to break.

Heavy Smokers

You could be thinking that you have been smoking for so long that you’ll never be able to quit, but we have succeeded with many heavy smokers – some smoking over 200 cigarettes per day with most smoking for over 20 years.

Our quit smoking hypnotherapy methods are scientifically proven and have a phenomenal track record of results.

Hypnotherapy can obliterate irrational fears: FACT!

From the greek word Phobos, meaning fear, Phobias are an irrational, intense and persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things or people. If you suffer from phobias you will know that the main symptom is an obsessive desire to avoid the feared subject or situation, but if avoidance isn’t possible the next stage of symptoms can become extremely distressing.

You may experience any of the hundreds of common phobias, or a rare personal phobia that is unique to you and your life experiences, but it is likely that your fear will fit into one of these 3 categories:

Social

Spatial

Specific

Social phobias

Do you fear embarrassment and negative evaluations from peers in social situations? This is the basis of most social fears including:

Fear of public speaking

Fear of eating in public

Fear of self expression

Fear of leaving the house (Agoraphobia)

Fear of crowds or large groups

Fear of general social situations

You may feel that these phobias are physical, especially if your reaction includes anxiety based symptoms like increased heart rate, breathing difficulties or panic attacks, but the mind is a powerful thing which can create physical reactions to our thoughts, beliefs and feelings.

Spatial phobias

Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) is always one of the top 10 phobias in any survey or study, as is Agoraphobia (fear of leaving your home) and they involve a fear of the particular area or amount of space available. Spatial phobias can include a fear of closed in spaces, a fear of open spaces and a fear of heights.

You are not alone if you suffer from any of these phobias, whether you are just slightly afraid of small spaces or spiral into a complete meltdown when you have to leave your home. Phobias come in a variety of levels of severity so if your phobia is starting to negatively affect your lifestyle, it is time to seek help and overcome these fears once and for all.

Specific phobias

A specific phobia isn’t related to social situations or spatial issues, it involves being fearful of a particular situation or thing and generally includes everything not covered in the previous 2 categories. Examples of these are Arachnophobia (spiders), Aerophobia (flying), Emetophobia (vomit), Astraphobia (storms), Necrophobia (death) and Mysophobia (germs) to name just a few.

Our treatment options work on finding the particular cause of your fear and we look at ways to slowly break down your resistance to your phobia subject using our tried and true techniques for unleashing the most powerful tool available, and one that you already possess: your subconscious mind.

Do you suffer from an of these symptoms

Total lack of motivation?

Emotional breakdowns: can’t stop crying?

Can’t leave the house?

Life feels like an enormous weight you carry around?

A feeling that life isn’t worth living?

You’re not the only one! Depression is one of the most common symptoms of modern life – especially MODERN life, and we say “symptom” because that’s what we consider it to be – a treatable, manageable (and expected) symptom of the day to day stresses of modern lifestyles that can be treated effectively through anti-depression hypnotherapy.

The stress of work, relationships, debt and professional commitments will send most of us into a depressed state at some point in our lives. This is not unusual.

In fact, research shows that 75% of people naturally come out of depression within a few days or weeks, but you may be part of the remaining 25% who can become unable to function day to day without medication.

Anti-Depressant Medication

Anthony Robbins famously said that in America depression is seen as a Prozac deficiency and not something that can be removed, no doubt thanks to the extensive marketing by the makers of anti-depressant drugs that tells us ‘everything will be ok’ if we take their drug.

On the contrary, relieving depression in the long term requires getting to the source of the problem. Treating the symptoms with pharmaceuticals will only encourage the feelings of depression and anxiety to return unless you take more and more of them. There is no clear remedy in sight…

Depression hypnotherapy acts at the root of the cause of your depression. Without reliving negative experiences, our professional hypnotherapists use effective relaxing and meditative hypnotherapy treatment to cure your depression faster than you could imagine.

Breaking Old Patterns

Is your depression forcing you to live the same pattern every day just to get by? This repetition continues to create the same result – more depression – but most of us have no idea where to start with breaking this cycle. Each day with depression is like quicksand, you don’t have the energy to fight but feel yourself sinking a little more every day, eventually you don’t even care.

You can break this cycle before it ruins your relationships or career, and we can teach you the skills to do this through the proven curative power of anti-depression hypnotherapy.

To help you overcome depression we start by teaching you to put the past, present and future into their true perspective through our meditative anti-depression hypnotherapy, so you can start enjoying the life you deserve.

Hypnotherapy for children is very effective, non invasive and fun. We have had many years experience in dealing with children of all ages from 7 years with all sorts of issues. (see below for some of the more common issues). Much of the success with children depends on the ability of the Hypnotherapist to relate to the child and their issue. Steve has 4 children of his own and hence lots of experience in dealing with children of all ages.

The power of rapport

During our sessions with kids we always speak to a child at their level. We never use language that is out of their grasp nor do we speak down to the child. It is important that they are able to trust us; even the most shy child is able to find their tongue and speak about what happens in their reality, why the issue is stopping them and what they would prefer to be happening.

Imagination and hypnosis

The doorway between the conscious and the unconscious mind is the imagination. For children, it’s relatively easy to reach at the deepest levels, in a much quicker time than required by a good many adults. Stories, adventures, visualization, imaginative games, role-playing, magic, puppets, and costumes work most effectively with children. Any tools that stimulate the imagination are at the Hypnotherapist’s disposal.

What might be included in the session?

· Playing a game

· Using the child’s imagination

· Use of favourite TV program

· Story telling

· Going on a magical trip in a rocket ship to mars or taking a trip to a magical forest

What will be included in a session?

· Spending the first part of the session with parent and child

· Allowing the child to get used to the environment whilst the Hypnotherapist talks to the child

· Any questions the parent may have can be addressed in the beginning of the session

· Allowing the child to explain why they are at the session

Some of the more common issues for children that we have successfully dealt with are;

· Bed wetting
· Anxiety
· Sleep issues
· Learning and study
· Weight management
· Thumb sucking
· Creating positive relationships to school, fitness, teachers, siblings etc
· Self esteem and self confidence

Homework

Sometimes we find that it is useful to set the child homework. This is part of creating a new behaviour and with repetition the new behavior becomes the norm.

What Parents Need to Know to Make Hypnotherapy Work?

The only effective way we can work with children is for the parent to remain outside the room during the session. This is for 2 reasons. The first is that the quality of information is always better without the parent in the room (no matter how great a parent you are) and secondly the child won’t be tempted to refer to the parent for answers or use the parent to hide behind.

It is also very important that the parent doesn’t ‘re install’ the old behaviour by reminding the child of their old issue by being overly caring or thinking that mentioning the old issue might somehow help. It is more useful to keep talking about the new behaviour. For example a parent might say “Now remember you don’t wet your bed anymore” This creates the mental image of bed wetting (the unconscious mind cannot delete a negative such as no, not don’t etc), what might be useful is creating a image such as how excited do you think you will be when you wake up in a dry bed tomorrow morning? This creates 2 positive images, the dry bed and the excitement or discovering the dry bed.

It is advisable that you stay in contact with your hypnotherapist after the session to find out how best to language your communication around the issue.

How many hypnotherapy sessions are required?

Typically 2 sessions are needed. The first to create the new direction and eliminate the old negative emotions and or behaviours and the second to check in to see how it is all going and to make sure the new changes continue.

As with all negative emotions people experience there is 2 elements to watch out for when self diagnosing. The first element is that anger has you versus you have the anger. If a negative emotion becomes an issue where you have little control over the feeling or you don’t know why you are experiencing the emotion then you are a candidate for Hypnosis.

All negative emotions (anger, sadness, fear and guilt) can be useful and valid in the right context.
For example if someone runs over your cat it’s OK to get angry (particularly if the cat was sitting on your lap at the time!)
The second reason is that all emotions are controlled in the subconscious (or as we refer to it; the unconscious) part of the mind. People come to see us because the negative emotion they are experiencing is happening automatically and they can’t stop.
The physical effects of anger

Anger triggers the body’s ‘fight or flight’ response. Other emotions that trigger this response include fear, excitement and anxiety. The adrenal glands flood the body with stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. The brain shunts blood away from the stomach towards the muscles, in preparation for physical exertion. Heart rate, blood pressure and respiration increase, the body temperature rises and the skin perspires. The mind is sharpened and focused.

Health problems
The constant flood of stress chemicals and associated metabolic changes that accompany recurrent unmanaged anger can eventually cause harm to many different systems of the body. Some of the short and long term health problems that have been linked to unmanaged anger include:
• Headache
• Digestion problems, such as abdominal pain
• Insomnia
• Increased anxiety
• Depression
• High blood pressure
• Skin problems, such as eczema
• Heart attack
• Stroke.

The following excerpt is from the Australian Hypnotherapists Association’s website (January 2009).

Regular sessions of hypnotherapy can markedly ease discomfort and improve the quality of life for most people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). These were the findings of a 2002 audit carried out at a British hypnotherapy unit devoted solely to the treatment of this common bowel disorder; they were published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology.

How it was done…
The research was done at a new IBS Hypnotherapy Unit at the University of South Manchester. The first 250 people treated at the Unit filled out a questionnaire before starting the program and again after three months so that comparisons could be made.
Participants scored themselves on such items as presence and severity of IBS symptoms, quality of life, and level of anxiety and depression. All had suffered from the painful bowel disorder for two years or more and had failed to get real relief from other treatments.
Every week, each participant met with a Hypnotherapist. In all, 232 participants continued hypnotherapy and filled out a final set of questionnaires at the end of three months.
The researchers found that bowel habit (such as stool frequency and consistency) improved in 78% of patients. (It did not change in 13%, and it deteriorated slightly in 9%.) Many indicated that their sense of overall well-being soared. Anxiety and depression eased considerably. The only subgroup of participants that did not respond to hypnotherapy were males with diarrhoea. The reviewers could not explain why they improved far less than other patients.

Why it’s important…
The university’s specialised Hypnotherapy Unit was established in response to indications that hypnosis could make a big difference in the lives of people with IBS, a bowel disorder that causes millions abdominal pain, bloating, and other problems. Many miss weeks of work and are depressed as a result of their illness, and consider their quality of life quite poor.
This large-scale review confirms the wisdom of treating IBS with hypnotherapy. In just three months, symptoms such as pain and bloating, as well as the level of so-called “disease interference” with life, changed profoundly for most participants.
The findings also indicate that a mind-body technique such as hypnotherapy can be very cost-effective (especially compared to pricey medications and surgical interventions), and that relief from this notoriously hard-to-treat condition can be sustainable (improvements are long-lasting).
